Allen Folk Music Society
The Allen Folk Music Society meets every third Saturday at the Blue House Gallery on the corner of Main Street and Allen Dr. in Allen, Texas at 7:00 pm.
We welcome anyone who loves folk music to attend! You can either play an instrument or sing or do both. The format is “hootenanny” style where the first round of music is played by people who have prepared something they want to perform for the group. During the next round each person picks a song to play. If we don’t have it in our songbook, you can bring the lyrics and chords and we’ll try to play along with you. It’s informal and fun!
Join us for an easy-going, pleasant evening of great music! Questions? Judi_Altstatt@yahoo.com
Twice As Far will perform at the Community Unitarian Universalist Church Coffeehouse.
2875 East Parker Road, Plano, TX 75074, 7–9 pm
We’ve released a new CD titled, Familia. Original songs by Jeannie Clark Fisher about family, friends, and travel are accompanied by Judi Altstatt and other fine supporting musicians. Familia is now available for ordering at this website.
Review of Familia
"There's just something fascinating about a classically trained singer doing folk songs, such a cross fertilization of some of civilization's elements. Jeannie Clark Fisher does that on Familia, inspired by a trip to Italy and drawing on a wide palette of influences."
